Jorge Zuluaga
Jorge Zuluaga is a mixed-media artist based in Durham, North Carolina.
Jorge was born in Cartago, Colombia where his vision and many of his conceptual ideas are drawn from. He holds an associate degree in arts from Wake Tech Community College.
For Jorge, anywhere his art is displayed is an opportunity to connect with individuals at a sensorial level through the expressions and emotions driven by his artwork.
He has also been one of the presenting artists at the Lineage juried show at Halle Cultural Art Center in Apex NC (won third place), the 25th Annual N.E.W Show at Visual Art Exchange in Raleigh NC; the Winter Show at Green Hill Center for North Carolina Art in Greensboro, the Punto de Vista V at the Womble Carlyle Gallery in Winston Salem NC, and the Building Bridges at The Eno Mill Gallery in Hillsborough NC, among others.
Jorge’s focus is on the passage of time/life leading to death, the self, the subconscious expression of art, and upcycling.
I jump in with both feet, and have been called fearless by my contemporaries because of a tendency to paint fast and with great enthusiasm. Each painting is a journey, a challenge, and a wonder. Painting is my passion!
Sherry was this year’s winner of the national art label design competition hosted by The Capital Grille in conjunction with Share Our Strength. The Capital Grille has raised more than a million dollars to fight childhood hunger.
The winning art, “Golden Moments”, was chosen for it’s layered colors that emulate the complex flavors of the Arrowood Cabernet Sauvignon. The limited edition wine will have the unique piece of original artwork by Sherry as its label while it supports Share Our Strength. For each bottle of wine sold, The Capital Grille will donate $25.00 to Share Our Strength.
Sherry’s artwork will be traveling across America during 2013. CONGRATULATIONS to Sherry!!! Lucky Fish Gallery is proud to represent this talented
